Staff were so excited to welcome students and their families back to school at the Open House just prior to the first day of school. This year was extra special as children had the opportunity to try out the new playground they have been watching contractors work on all summer long. Superintendent Webb cut the ribbon at a short celebration that was well attended by the Vine Street School community. Students quickly made their way to the playground. The sounds of their laughter and excited cheers gave a strong indicator of the children’s approval of the new equipment. Now, a month later, students report that they LOVE the swings and the new slides. There are monkey bars that are safe for all children to practice on and students are getting quite adept at making their way across the bars. Older students are finding the swinging upper body stations challenging and exciting. A special thanks to our PTO for getting us started on achieving the goal of a new playground.
