On December 22nd, the Vine Street School first, second and third graders participated in a STEM afternoon. All activities focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In the pictures on this page, students worked under the direction of second-third grade teacher, Mrs. Sherry, to predict what would happen if M & M’s were exposed to warm water. Needless to say, the students were thrilled with the unexpected reaction! Students also had the opportunities to explore data analysis using the third grade Chromebooks, demonstrate their math fact fluency during Bingo games and think like engineers as they build usable objects using only items provided by the teacher. It was a fun, educational afternoon!
