On a sunny and cool October morning, seventh and eighth graders from the James F. Doughty School gathered on the middle school's soccer field to volunteer as coaches for the Vine Street Pre-K students. This heartwarming initiative, organized by Mrs. Robinson, Vine Street Pre-K, and Mrs. Robichaud, JFDS’s Phys. Ed. teacher, aims to promote physical fitness and belonging in our school community.

Bangor High School Supports Dexter Regional High School! Hello, Bangor community! Dexter Regional High School has been selected by T-moblie as one of the top 25 finalists from over 2,000 schools across the country—and they’re the only school representing Maine! This is a fantastic opportunity for our county and our state, as Dexter has a chance to win a $1 million grand prize that would benefit not only the school but also their entire community and beyond.

As fellow Mainers, it's important to come together and support one another. A win for Dexter means new turf, lights, and updated facilities, creating a safer environment for their athletes and a central gathering place for their community to cheer on their students. Imagine what our city would be like without Cameron Stadium and all of the opportunities that it has given our students.

Dexter is currently in third place, and they need our votes to rise to the top! You can vote every day until October 24th. Let’s rally around Dexter Regional High School and show our support. Every vote makes a difference!

Good luck, Dexter! Let’s bring this home for Maine! #VoteDexter #MaineStrong #WeAreBangor

Vine Shine Report #6

Recently Vine Street Pre-K Students took a field trip to Country Pumpkins and Kindergarten students spent a beautiful fall morning at Conant's Apple Orchard. The class took a tractor ride out to the apple orchard and learned all about the life cycle of an apple and the correct way to pick an apple. They also learned about the importance of bees and pollination to the apple crop. Back in our classrooms, we did lots of activities connected to our field trip. The students created apple volcanoes, apple crafts, apple graphs, and even apple nachos!
